Sara Means, LCSW, PMH-C

My work in maternal mental health began before I became a mother myself. When I became a mother, my commitment to this work deepened, reinforcing my desire to help fill the gaps in maternal mental health and provide women with the care they deserve.

Motherhood has a way of stirring up emotions and parts of ourselves that we don't always know what to do with. Some days you feel like you're finding your footing, and the next you're overwhelmed with worry, struggling to quiet intrusive thoughts, crying for reasons you can't quite explain, and wondering if you're doing enough. You may notice aspects of your own childhood showing up in unexpected ways, or find yourself so lost in the day-to-day that you feel disconnected from who you are outside of motherhood.

Whether you're navigating motherhood or feeling weighed down by anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, or major life changes, we'll work to move beyond just trying to cope and begin healing the experiences and patterns that keep you feeling stuck, so you can move forward.

My approach to therapy is rooted in connection, curiosity, and the belief that lasting change comes from healing the deeper layers of what’s coming up today. I am certified in Perinatal Mental Health and EMDR Therapy, and I primarily integrate EMDR and Ego State Therapy into my work with clients. These approaches help process difficult experiences and long-standing patterns, allowing you to be more present and less affected by the past.

If you're ready to deepen your understanding, shift patterns that no longer serve you, and feel more aligned with the way you want to feel and live, I'd love to support you.

Let’s get started.
